The 2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase

Danny's favourite trainer has two in this and I think they both have prospects.

Calico has the more obvious chance - and I wouldn't want to be laying the 16/1 that - but nothing went right for Shakeyatailfeather here last time out and I wouldn't be standing the 20/1 that either.

Same day same card 1965 Amlin :
Ile et Francais 2/1
Pic Dorhy 4/1
Jango Baie 9/2
Gidleigh Park 6/1
Jukebox Man 7/1
Heart Wood 10/1

I can't take 10s about Henry's as it's an Entain only price but he's the bet if he runs.

Some people say "Get off my f*****g thread" to hijackers, but that never has been, and never will be, Your Favourite Uncle Smart Arse's way.

YFUSA welcomes the extra dimension and even adds a betting link.

Partly because YFUSA is a bit scared of anyone who names himself after a late figure in Norwegian Black Metal, admittedly, but even so....

YFUSA might even give you the best bet in the race tomorrow.

The trainer's quote after his last run suggests he's going straight to Kempton.

Thank God.

The actual Hurst Park seem to have a lot of badly handicapped horses in it, esp the top five in racecard order. I'd have this between Teddy,Martator and GG.

Tbh i should love the guy he trained the biggest single win I've ever landed and that was a big part in my best days (by quite some way) punting ever. I shall ever be thankful for that magic moment.

Somehow though I still would like to kick him in the nuts.

Mmm, not sure. I wouldn't back him at Ascot anyway.
Interesting... It's all about opinions as they say, but I don't feel too worried about Ascot for him. His two best performances have been at Exeter and Sandown ... right-handed, uphill finishes. Should I be thinking that Ascot is so different?

The year is 1973, I am consequently ten years old, and my Dad is driving us from Totley to Bramall Lane to watch a Sheffield United home game (mostly probably hosting Liverpool as my Dad was a Liverpool fan).

Anyway, on the radio it's the Black and White Whiskey Gold Cup over 2m, which is what this race formerly was.

And I can see it in my mind's eye now as my Dad looked for somewhere to park up - Peter Bromley was getting very excited as Bula came to win it.

Il Est Francais is a horse I like, but he's had his issues and Pic D'Orhy seems the one most likely to run his race.

This is getting confusing. I forgot there were 2 races on this thread.

I could simplify it. If ever two races said 'look but don't touch' then it would be these two. Without wanting to dampen UFSA double dipping thread there's nothing to see here move along. But the best of luck to anyone who fancies trying to sort both of those lots out.

Gabriel's Getaway is now a fair price IMO, given I think it's got as much chance as anything in the race.

A win for Martator will send the Williams November Groupies into delirium, with chants of: "Can you hear The Doubters Sing?" breaking out on the Ascot terraces.

As for "the other race," (thanks, again, Euronymous), I am rather looking forward to seeing Il Est Francais presumably tearing round there, but he's had his issues and Pic D'Orhy might be the more likely to run his race.

Reckon Hendo wims this,if the wind op has worked.

I'm a bit prejudiced against the horse, ever since he ruined a double when falling at the last at Cheltenham back in the day. I don't trust him and my instinct is screaming that he won't like the track.

There is absolutely no need to thank Your Favourite Uncle Smart Arse - he's all about keeping wolves from doors as The Advent approaches.
