Possibly a little under the radar, but there is a Group 1 over 7f for 3yo at Deauville tomorrow at 3.40pm.

Shadow Of Light, The Lion In Winter, Cosmic Year plus six others.

Interesting looking race and imo the overseas challengers are all a bit short and my play would be to dutch the first and third from the Djebel over course and distance back in April. Both Maranoa Charlie and Woodshauna have franked the form with wins since - 5/1 and 8/1 respectively.

I'll be surprised if this prize doesn't come back across the channel. However I think Daylight is a tad overpriced at 40s, so I've had a nibble ew.

I've only just looked at the race/this thread and didn't realise TLIW was even in it.

I've obviously missed the bus with it but O'Brien is pulling lapins out of chapeaux gauche, droit and centre so I've taken out some sickness/recovery insurance. 10/3 was the best I could get.

Take out the Derby run and you’re not wrong imo. But as I thought before the Derby, the vibes weren’t there and if my source is 100% about the feet being the problem, then Epsom was never going to suit, even with some ease. His Dante run was fair and he wasn’t knocked around. Form of that race is not looking so good now, but the real under performers came in the Derby I think which you can’t hold against them necessarily.

That’s very fair, but just from a betting point of view, today is the day you’d take 13/2 to find out. If he’s beaten today, you’ll never want to be on again.

Woodshauna 34 on the machine a bit ago. Yes pls.

TLIW has run much better in third in what was effectively a four-way photo. Considering the race was only 7f I imagine they'll be delighted with that.

WD Euro. I was late watching so didn't even look at race bar sticking a fiver on TLIW. Bit of a French race but there you go. Cosmic Year flattered and didn't. TLIW runs with his head up but did run on and I suspect needs more than this 7. It was a better performance by him despite finishing third and if they can keep his feet right, he should pick up next time. I'd keep him away from quick ground though.

Sussex Stakes

So long as it isn't fast ground, I reckon. I'm not sure that track on fast ground would be any good for his feet.

I'm kicking myself a wee bit for backing it today. I didn't check the trip. I had it firmly in my head that today's race was a mile. (Probably thinking of the Marois.)

In that field it was the correct bet. I wouldn't be hard on yourself.

Great shout.
