23 entries for the former Cecil Frail Handicap and Is say the contest in which King Caspar beat Transparent might be of some relevance here.

14/1 the latter might be fair st the revised weights, but only the William Hill Organisation pricing up so far, so either (King Caspar is 7/1) might yet be bigger elsewhere.

No idea if either actually runs yet either.

Much like the London Gold Cup, I tend not to get heavily involved in this race, preferring instead to look for future winners from it.

Don't blame you, tbh, Maurice.

I suspect Saturday's London Gold Cup winner at Newbury will turn out to be a Group horse who was running off 95.

I do like the "Cecil Frail," though.

I get that and I feel much the same normally but Fort George was so yummy tracker worthy at Newmarket and his form with Gunship and Merchant from last back end has worked out so well that I have to take some 6/1 at Hills premature though that may be.

As pretty much suggested in my OP, King Caspar strikes me as the most likely winner of this with Transparent the biggest danger and fair value at the revised weights - I like the form of their race at Newmarket - and I am investing accordingly.

Fort George might be the one for tricast combo junkies. 😂

Human looks fairly treated, but I am not sure about him at the trip, while Tilted Kilt is a 3yo I like.

If I talk about any more, I'll start to sound like a 1970s/80s Derek Thompson ITV Racing preview - "and here's another one (the 12th, in a field of 14, he'd mentioned) I could give a chance to...." - so I'll leave it at that. 😂

So THAT's what's been influencing me all these years...
