The 2026 "Friday Night Live" Thread

The Decs Tracker is open for business and, if you're not beside yourself with excitement you are an ungrateful wretch and the angels will weep for you.

The Class 3 Handicap and the 18k Class 4 Handicaps will be my primary focus, but the Class 2 Novice Stakes decs should be good for a giggle too.

The declarations are OUTSTANDING - 12, 12, 12, 12 in the races of interest to me - and anyone who now literally cannot wait for Friday evening clearly has not one gramme of joie de vivre within their dismal being and is not fit to breath God's clean air!

I haven't actually listened to it yet but The Paddock do half-decent content so it might provide a look-in to the invades operation / friday night live stuff, if anyone's interested

Fasten your safety belts, everyone, The Talking Horses Stealth Bomber is currently circling the little-known Rolleston Airport (locals could be seen throwing buns at it earlier and screaming something that sounded like: "It's 'South Well,' you southern ****s!" earlier) before landing ready for a commando-style incursion into the racecourse to annex/secure the area ready to occupy the elevated area opposite the winning line before the Invades students rock up.

A Class 3 Handicap stormer, three £18k C4 Handicap crackers, a 9yo who was tailed off at Punchestown last time he stood up making his Flat debut on Tapeta and Special Forces Walsworth desperately hoping Alice Plunkett will show up before reverting to Plan B (Adele Mulrennan), Plan C (Megan Nicholls) and finally Plan D (Leonna Mayor).

This will be the MOTHER of all Friday Nights!

You do realise tonight's card clashes with the Winter Olympics coverage.
Should I watch the Olympics where the presenters are off piste or the racing where the presenters p*ss me right off?
Decisions decisions!!!
As a non-patriot, who decided very early in life that racing and football were the ONLY sports worth bothering with, there is no personal dilemma here and I frankly pity anyone who might be torn, sir!

The Tapeta Titan has spoken from across The Irish Sea - yes, the 9yo can't jump, won't jump, by that well-known Flat sire (not) Blue Bresil is going to get beat tonight by....another hurdler!

Check out that old school collateral formline through State Man on the only form that counts - Irish form - and Constitution Hill has a MOUNTAIN to find with Daddy Long Legs this very evening!

On his Ballinrobe run he wins this. My only concern is the horse has issues but at 5/1 you just throw your money down and trust Willie. This won't have been an afterthought.

Missed the race, not been well, throwing up all day.
Feeling bit better now but very weak.
Glad you're feeling a bit better.

A truly tremendous evening.

Anyone who isn't just loving Friday Night Live is the biggest Misery Guts since Miserable Michael Gutsenburg won "Misery Guts Of The Year" three years running at Misery Guts Town.

Roll on, the next one (at which rumour has it Galopin Des Champs will be having a crack at the 5f handicap off automatic top weight).

I was surprised just how poor the horse was. I really thought if you are bringing one over from a very big stable in Ireland then it must be half decent. It wasn’t….. Instead we witnessed a perfect hands and heels ride on a monster of a horse. I listen to the interviews afterwards and Oisin Murphy said the horse had blown and must have a huge lung capacity.

I thought it was a great meeting put on for the public. Some good races.

He ran desperate. The horse has problems and is coming off a break. I just thought at the price he was worth chancing but it ran no race at all. I'd be careful with anything Oisin Murphy says. He tends to love the sound of his own voice
