This was discussed on the ML as a dinner party topic, apparently the winner at that particular dinner party was velcro, with the top racing match being Big Mac's holidays.

What is it for you ?

It actually IS sliced bread. Nothing has come near it for convenience, especially if you've ever tried to slice a nice straight line through a really crusty loaf. My knifemanship leaves a lot to be desired, and giant doorsteps aren't everyone's idea of a dainty tea-time treat. :D

I reckon the best thing since sliced bread is probably the fridge followed by washing machine and dishwasher.

The best thing before sliced bread? That's very difficult. When did sliced bread first appear? Were you born, Brian? :P

First refrigerator 1805, on sale for domestic users in late 1800s.

First washing machine 1846, electric powered model 1900, on general sale 1911.

First dishwashing machine invented 1880, on sale to domestic users 1912.

First sliced bread on sale 1928.

Apart from that no problems

The wheel... hang on a few centuries, folks... sliced bread.

Mmm, not bad in terms of human evolution, is it?

Good to know age isn't affecting your memory, Brian.

Well done, Maurice. You take home today's 'Spot the Balls-Up' prize - a trip for two to Garrison Savannah, all expenses paid. (By Harters, of course.) :D

The Wonderbra may be a revolution for some women - but for men isn't it just a case of false advertising, leading to inevitable disappointment??
