While in essence the race will remain the great [in my opinion] race it always is, one line in this article caught my eye:

Coral take over sponsorship of Newbury's premier jumps race in three-year deal | Horse Racing News | Racing Post

The three-year-deal means that the Coral Gold Cup will be shown on Sky Sports Racing in 2024 with the Berkshire track's deal with the broadcaster beginning in January of the same year.

Does this mean it will not be shown on council TV?

(In any event, it will always be the Hennessy to me...)

Can't let Burrough Hill Lad go unmentioned in this context. The only horse to carry 12 stone or more since Arkle and Mill House, he was awesome on the day.

What weight would Ahoy Senor carry this season off a mark of 161?

To think he started his chase career last season off 152. A 9lb rise doesn't seem too punitive.
