A subset have been despatched.

Oh Tom there you are. I was worried about you as we hadn't seen you about the place all week. I though you must've been watching Cheltenham on telly, and that four days of horses actually trying in every race had left you looking like this

That's 'a subset HAS been despatched' - nae problem, the Grammar Police's flying snipers - known as The Twelve Apostrophes - are waiting for them at this very minute.

Griffin, believe it or not, I couldn't even be bothered watching it. I'm not really into the finer points of the game (in fact there's something about the whole racing scene - mainly the people - that I detest), it's just the cash I want.

I'm busy working on my programme just now as I'm in the middle of a nightmare scenario. I've reached the limitations of the database software I was using and now have to find an alternative. This is no easy task as I have to download trial software, transfer my own data to that format, recode my programme to use the new format and finally test it for speed. At the moment I've got about 5 different programmes and databases on the go, two of which I've been unable to get working, and I've another couple of alternatives I may look at. On top of that the mob I was downloading my racing results from have recently changed their database software and changed table and field names. This means I have to rewrite my data importing code. In about 3 months time I'll hopefully be back where I was last November

Kri, when I wrote that I thought it didn'i look right and considered HAS. The fact I left it unchanged suggests I'm on the verge of senility

HT - are you sure it wouldn't be much easier to just lob out the cost of a Silver Ring ticket for Ayr, arm yourself with a print-off of the list of runners, actually SEE some horses in the flesh, and make your multi-thousand pound profit in just ONE day's racing? :brows: How much do you reckon your time's worth, by the hour? The cost of the downloads, the equipment, the phone bills, etc.? Must run into tens of thousands a year, at what you'd pay yourself! £9 or whatever it is for the Oiks Enclosure, a flask of your own tea and Mrs HT's sarnies in your pocket - you're in profit already!

Kri, if I went into the silver ring at any course, turned the bookmakers upside down and gave them a good shake I wouldn't get a decent turn out of them.
