Day and night time hours the same today, clocks go forward Sat.

We have had the snowdrops, primroses, daffodils out for a week or two, crocusses coming through fast now. The katkins have been evident for a week or two as well.

A few swallows have been sighted and Summer's on the way...... so why is it so effin cold ?
 
Swallows??? Ours usually get here the first week of May, but then sunny Scotland maybe isn't quite warm enough for them yet. They've always fascinated me though, I remember watching a nature programme a couple of years ago and seeing swallows in Africa swooping among the giraffes and elephants. Strange to think that they're the same swallows who come over here for our summer. What a change it must be for them.
 
Love it when the swallows return - I had 2 pairs rearing 2 broods each last year in the barn - they are so chatty as well. Also love the swifts - amazing to think they sometimes don't land for up to 2 years!

But you are not wrong about the temp, DG - effing cold here - double duvets back on all the horses. No daffs here - plenty of crocus/snowdrops though.
 
Seed planting is on hold I got 12 different pkts of flowers plus a few dahlias to go in also but they can wait until mid April ................ :P

Crocus and muscari, + miniature daffs too are out............... :)
 
I had heaters on throughout the wee flat in every room (all three of them!) today, windows closed against the wind and the cold, cold air. Wore a sweatshirt indoors all day, too. And I live on the 'sunny south coast'! :confused:
 
Another freezing day here too. The waves are battering the sea wall again. The thing I hate most of all about the weather over the last couple of months is the lack of sunshine. I am tired of all this low grey cloud coverage all of the time.
 
I heard a rumour that the sun was due out tomorrow. Best get your camera ready Diminuendo, just in case it makes only a very short appearance. :unsure:
 
:D That reminds me, Kathy, of when my parents and I were over on our first leave from Africa. We stayed with my Mother's brother and his wife in London, and one day, after what seemed to be the dreariest days of my life, Auntie Muriel rushed to the window, threw back the curtains, and called out, "Quick! Quick, have a look at this!" Mother and I dashed to the window, expecting to see something amazing. We looked in vain. "Up there - I don't want you to miss it," Auntie Mu pointed to a tiny patch of blue sky trying to squeeze through endless clouds, "it's a bright period!"
 
Its freezing in dublin here!! i just seen a brass monkey walking about lookin for a welder...

nice one with the clock goin forward this weekend..does that mean i get a longer lie in?It Better!!!

It's been raining here the past few days, but temps are well up and when it's not raining it's been sunny and warm!!! B)

It is, I've seen it..... the sun's out in Berkshire! :o
 
Temperatures significantly warmer than last week in the sunny southeast of Ireland.Nearly time to dump the second duvet.
 
After I thought it was warming up, three nights ago I had the heating on all night. -5 predicted here tonight too. Brrr.
 
I had to defrost my car this morning, which will tach me for being too lazy to put it in the garage. And there's snow forecast for Friday.
 
:lol: :lol: Ovverbruv yes I am not denying your statement because I know it can happen!!! but looked at it and smiled .....

You are all aware that snow was on the course in early June when the Derby was run I cant remember the year as such but that's the truth.............. :rolleyes:
