Mention of BrianH's impressions of Frank Sinatra makes me wonder whether any other forumites have party turns ?

A forum show could be staged .

I just wrote, organised, directed and played a part in a three night extravaganza called 'Charlie Easton and The Chocolate Factory' at our club. Seven hundred happy spectators later and the whol thing was a raging success!

You do 'The Blaydon Races' pretty well, too, don't you, Diver?

We've had our festive hooley here at Crumbly Towers this afternoon, which was actually quite good this year as a number of last year's truly drooly have departed this mortal coil, and some younger (as in 65) gay guys have come in, along with their keyboards and splendidly sociable bonhomie. 'Roses of Picardy' is rather before my time, but we still mumbled along to it, while I resisted the desire to play Mum's old Metallica tape.

We sank many magnums of a rather nice fizz from Asda, £2.69 a go, called 'Charlemagne', and I defy all but the worst snob not to find it very pleasant, not sickly sweet nor drily acid, and excellent for mass quaffing.

You're such a ghastly snob, Ardross. You haven't tried it, and you won't try it because you think that Sainsbury's "Buy 2 Get the Third Free" for £8.99 is such wonderful value - as long as YOU'RE the one drinking it. Just GET OVER IT ALL, for God's sake - everything is just plonk. Some plonk costs more than others, doesn't mean people like it. Some plonk is good, some plonk is filth. None of it is going to change the world, believe me. Why on earth can't you stop sniping about anything you don't happen to drink? It is so, so, SO effing tiresome!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: OH YES, IT IS!!!! :angy: :angy: :angy:

We're just talking about enjoying some sociable, innocuous Christmas plonk, and he JUST HAS to denigrate it. I'm just tired of this posturing, Richard Grant style, about a drop of pleasant fizz. So what if the stuff comes from a tank in Eastern Europe? Is that now to insult Eastern Europe? I'm just bloody tired of it all, that's what's the matter, Colin - and thank you for so kindly asking. I bet you're glad you did! :o

Yummmm, I wouldn't mind a nice, ice-cold Blackthorn right now. It'd go down very well, and might make me an altogether more pleasant person ce soir. (Or an even more rantingly rabid one, I don't know!) h:) Enjoy, Colin!

Mrs Orchid bought some 'Harveys Bristol Cream' the other day because of the name and because it was on special offer. This evening I wooed her with some genuine sherry for which I paid £2.99 a bottle and asked her opinion (without telling her the price - I just told her it was genuine Jerez (which it was)). Her opinion? "Exceptionally smooth - see'z summair!"

If it's palatable, enjoy!
