Today me, Mr GG and the girls went to a horse sanctuary called Horseworld in Bristol. We'd been there before a few years ago and had always promised the girls we'd go back again one day because they loved it. Molly is horse mad  A lot of the horses and ponies there are ex-cruelty cases with photos of how they looked when they arrived. There are some ex-racers but we didn't get to see them. The ones in the public viewing areas all have fantastic natures. There are a few ponies, donkeys and goats that the children are able to go in with and groom them. We had a great time and I took far too many photos

Great stuff, Griffs! I love Rolo - he looks like the type of goats they have in the Middle East, and which are particularly popular (with boiled rice and salad) following the fast of Ramadan, when there's a 10-day hooley to celebrate getting through a month of privations. The thousands that are sacrificed during the Hajj, or holy pilgrimage to Makkah, are usually imported from New Zealand. No wonder Rolo's smiling, safely here in England!

Griffin, you can never take too many photos, especially with your girls and the various animals. They are permanent memories for you when you get older and your girls are all grown up and have flown the nest! (Although that's a few years away yet!)

I love the look of Apache and Sunny and I think it is great they allow the children to get right up close and actually groom them. A great idea.

PS Georgia seems to get cuter with each passing week! B)

Georgia and the girls are SO going to thank you in 13-odd years' time, when the budding boyfriends call round.

"Oh, hallo, Paul - I'm just putting the last pictures into the album of Georgia before she grew any hair - look, isn't she sweeeet?" :o

Griffin great piccys, one day I'll get the hang. Popeye looks very araby which most racing people would hate, sorry guys I love Arabs and always will, brains and speed cant beat it. I loved the picture of sonny he looks a right sweetie.

I like the first one bestest too....

If you do come up Dim, give me a shout, You can come and meet our mob if you want - were only another 20 mins up the motorway!! ( and Ive always fancied going to HW - but dont want to go on my own!!!)

Mr GG and the older three girls went on the trailer ride while we were there. It took them all around the farm next door where the horses are rehabilitated. Mr GG took the camcorder and filmed much of it. I saw it for the first time last night and I'm glad I didn't go because I would've found it too upsetting. There were two horses who'd just arrived from Greece, both severly emaciated. Not very pleasant to see at all. It's all very well and good the children enjoying petting the ponies and playing on the slides there, but the reason why they were there at all was standing in a field a few hundred yards away.
