No, you couldn't be much further away - 23 is from "Everyone's Gone To The Moon" by Jonathan King (or as he was also known as until recently, number 937004)

How many miles am I off?

I walk along the street of sorrow...
Along the boulevarde of broken dreams,
Where Pierrot and Pierrette
Awake to find their faces wet with tears...

Something along those lines, but it's a very, very long time since I appeared at the Palais, you understand?

I'm surprised to see there isn't a single Whigfield (a very good group) number among them.

I meant that you were way off because of her majesty's late guest - here are your lyrics:

"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"

I walk along the street of sorrow
The boulevard of broken dreams
Where gigolo and gigalette
Can take a kiss without regret
So they forget their broken dreams

You laugh tonight and cry tomorrow
When you behold your shattered dreams
And gigolo and gigalette
Awake to find their eyes are wet
With tears that tell of broken dreams

Here is where you'll always find me
Always walking up and down
But I left my soul behind me
In an old cathedral town

The joy that you find here you borrow
You cannot keep it long it seems
But gigolo and gigalette
Still sing a song and dance along
Boulevard of broken dreams

I'm still struggling to find the difference between trance and euphoria, Shadow, so bear with me...

Gee, that's great, Brian! Thanks a million. I shall lobby for you to be appointed Songfinder General to Her Madge. My mother used to sing this song, or whatever bits she could remember, so now I'll copy it out and impress her with my version of it... "that's another song wrecked forever" were the usual words of encouragement I got. Time won't have mellowed either of us.

  I'll tell you one thing about trance & euphoria, Kri - they're both shite and not worth bothering with!!!!!

Seriously, Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a good song! (it's neither trance or euphoria, either!!!)

Think SL is having the same problem Kri. Now Hard House is the real dross but euphoria and trance is much better.

Are Green Day Nu Metal? or is that summet different?

Just for krizon, the Green Day song of the same title:

"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah
Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I walk alone
I walk a...

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...

Well done again, Brian! I dunno, I dunno... I might have trouble remembering the ah-ah-ah-ah bits from Green Day's entirely different version - you put one 'ah' in too many, and the thing's shot to hell. I think I'll stick with the 'real' boulevarde! (Like horses' names, I'm surprised they're allowed to name a song with the same name as another.)

There is no copyright on song titles. There are quite a few years between the two "Boulevards" but how about three totally different hits with the same title? Jennifer Rush, Huey Lewis & The News and Frankie Goes To Hollywood - "The Power Of Love".

I'm amazed there's no copyright on song titles. There are on the actual songs, aren't there, just as books are the copyright of their authors, though whether a book's title forms part of the author's 'right', I'm not dead sure. I assume there's no copyright on the title 'The Holy Bible', for example, though?
