Molly and Emily share a bedroom and they had asked me a few weeks ago if they could have a small Christmas tree in their room this year. I'd seen one in Argos, £10 complete with lights and decorations and was feeling generous enough to buy it for them. It's been sat in the box ever since and they've been desperate to set it up but I told them they had to wait until December 1st. But as I'm working tomorrow there'll not be enough time to do it tomorrow night so I let them put it up after school today.

They're chuffed to bits with it, and so am I for a measly tenner :) I'm now just waiting for Daisy to pipe up and say she wants one!

Bless. There is nothing better in December than seeing the eager faces of kids awaiting the big day. Why, when technically they can't have a bet in the King George, I don't know. B)

I echo Dave - "aww, blesss......"

Mind you, from all I've heard about Molly, I'm sure she'll be having a punt on the King George too!!!

Bugger - you've just reminded me Griffin - it's December 1st tomorrow & I haven't got meself an advent calendar yet.....

Daisy is the eldest, she's 8 and she still believes. I think it's lovely she's managed to get to that age and still not know any better.

Humbug. There's only one thing worse than seeing people enjoy themselves and that's seeing young people enjoying themselves. They should be getting thrashed with a leather belt.

Kids and Christmas, one of the best times in the life of a parent. Lovely photos. I hope ( somehow know) you and they will really enjoy Christmas.

Great photos, great kids, great tree! It reminds me - when I was really young, about five or six, my parents saved up madly to buy me a dolly's pram. A really smart, beautiful one. So good that, in fact, it was wrestled off me later by my friends to give each other rides in, and fairly quickly smashed to smithereens. But that isn't the point - they tried so hard to keep this object hidden, as a BIG surprise on the day, finally retrieving it from a friend's house with difficulty (by Tube, as they didn't have a car), wrapping it secretly, and then waiting with keen anticipation as I entered our little living-room on Christmas morning. They were SO proud of being able to offer me this little gem. So, up I got, put on my teddy-bear slippers, and wandered into the front room. Where I barged straight past my parents, and the lovely wrapped pram, and stood in front of the Christmas tree, shining with its magical lights and decorations, and yelled, "What a BEAUTIFUL tree!"

I think my Mum and Dad slunk off muttering darkly about if that's all it took to make the brat happy...

My parent's cat loves Christmas. he has a fetish for boxes. He just loves jumping in them and looking chuffed with himself.

I like Christmas, although not as much as the cat! Nothing beats quality time spent with the family when no one is sniping at each other, and Christmas seems to bring the best out of (most - HT excepted) people.

I hate feckin Christmas and all those bloody Christmas songs that you are bombarded with everytime you go into a shop or switch on the bleeding television, I really am a miserable old bastard.

I received my first Christmas card two days ago, for goodness sake. And from two people I've cudgelled me brains to think who they are. I've only just realized it while typing - how bloody embarrassing! I can't stand all those general-purpose 'what we've done this year' letters, telling you in four pages of micro-type who's been to DisneyWorld or Las Vegas, but most usually who died, who's desperately ill, who's divorced, who's gone mad, or who's gone broke. They're usually litanies of drear and desperation - Happy Christmas indeed!
