I can't claim any artistic ability whatsoever and finished 29th of 29 in my last art exam. However, we were in paris and spent last Saturday morning walking round the Louvre or Le Louvre or whatever it's called out there. What a fantastic place.

I'll be back!!

Er.... could someone delete the other three postings of this thread! It kept showing error messages.

Done. I spent about 5 hours in the Louvre and it is amazing. I have no artistic ability either and am totally colourblind too yet found it fascinating.

We saw the Mona Lisa but it didn't do much for either of us.

I felt like making a bid for some painting or the other of sights of Rome by Pannini but I reckon it was probably beyond my budget.

Is it this one?

PDJ that's the one hanging next to the one that I meant. We reckoned that he did one without pillars and then fancied doing it again with pillars. But maybe it was the other way round, or neither!

Anyhow, we preferred the pillars.

I am jealous of anyone who can draw/paint. To be able to do it to such a high standard is just amzing.

Oh for goodness sake. I said it was by Pannini and her indoors mentioned sandwiches but NOBODY thought of football stickers!

Damn. I was scrolling down with the intention of referring to stickers and the omnipresent PDJ beats me to it.

I'm not into art but we did go round the Louvre when we went to watch the Tour de France. I sought out the Mona Lisa but couldn't get near it because of a few dozen Japs. Must confess I felt like one of these rubberneckers passing by a M-way accident. I just had to look even though it was nothing out of the ordinary.

The Japs were still there Ray.

Why anybody would want a mobile phone picture of an ugly Jap standing about 10 metres in from of the Mona Lisa, I'll never know. But that's life!
