But that only happened once. Can’t help but feel it’s going to happen on a regular basis with the Mullins horses now. I wasn’t aware of True Selfs success. That really is a brilliant piece of race planning. Looking at Thousand Stars ( who I always assumed was trained by Ted Walsh) he was pretty good before switching to Mullins but had had a disappointing season just before he moved stable. Again, brilliant race planning. Henderson doesn’t seem all that interested in staying types so it probably made sense to switch him to a stable that excelled in those sort of races. Can’t help but feel it’s never bothered him that he’s never won a National.
