I’ve always had a passing interest in politics especially around elections. The last few weeks my interest has heightened with revelation after revelation about our government and their ministers especially does ministers who don’t bother reading reports before ploughing a few billion into our banks. Nightly News with Vincent Browne was quite amusing last night, with Dan Boyle being ripped to shreds over the whole affair and the Greens apparent unconditional support of Finna Fail.

I’ve come across this post on http://www.politics.ie

It seems thing are about to get very interesting indeed.

The following non-verbatim quote has been attributed to Alan Dukes, who, according to this, was specifically asked last night what was happening -
boards.ie - View Single Post - The Golden Circle

"As I am on the board of Anglo Irish Bank, I cannot divulge specific information, but I can say this to you... What is going to come out in the next week or two about what has been going on within Anglo, is going to shock the Irish people to their very core, they will barely be able to get their heads around the seriousness of what they are going to hear, they will actually not believe what they are hearing"...

I'd believe pretty much anything about them unless they came out and told us they'd identified a person in Anglo who didn't like a bet, than I'd be sceptical.

Finna Fail could end up crippling themselves in all of this. I'd like to see some markets on Betfair on it. How sustainable is Labour's rise in the recent MRI poll? The figures add up to a Fine Gael/Labour goverment having a suplus to form a goverment, even on the most conserative reading of the figures. I'd imagine the next poll will strenghen both parties positions.

It just occurred to me today that when Bertie said he was a socialist we all laughed .Not so sure he was pulling our leg now. When I look at Cowan and his policies and attitude, he's more PD than Harney.

Thankfully the PDs are dead. I've just got a reply from Betfair, hopefully there will some markets up by the end of the weekend. The fixed odds quotes I have seen lack any imagination.
