I tend to the view that racecourses now have far too much power - they put on endless crap to meet " tariffs" , they abandon historic races for another bookmaker friendly boring handicap and they selfishly move good mid week racing to the weekend for a mixture of greed and rubbish reasoning and don't get me started on " ladies Days " when all the fillies races are grouped together or Ebor Day with three long staying races in a row .

The one thing that does really strike me is how greedy they have become at trying to make you pay for extras all the time Cheltenham now charges annual members extra for loads of things that were once included

I present now however the greedy rip off of all - not content with putting its prices through the roof - which may explain why even with Camelot coming Leger day is not sold out this year . Doncaster will charge you an extra £2.50 to collect your advance tickets from the course - or to send them to you in the post . At least the latter includes a stamp and envelope

What greedy rip offs can you report ?

Sausages and Mash is £2.05 more in the Owners & Trainers bar at Kempton than in the Grandstand cafe.

The Horsemen's Group are fighting the wrong battles.
