But the ante-post prices for the Ballymore Hurdle are 2/1 Samcro and 10/1 Next Destination. In both races they meet off level weights. So the question is why the discrepancy in prices?

Likelihood of running I'd imagine. I can only ascertain that bookies believe Next Destination will run in this and Samcro is unlikely, therefore they're protecting themselves with the shorter price on ND.

No doubt it was Meath money backing Next Destination.
 
What money Slim?

Total money traded on the machine for Samcro was 400 quid so no one made a fortune there.

If there was any large bets accepted by mainstream bookies on New Destination I would be amazed.

The minute someone asks for a few grand on they refuse the bet and the alarm bells go off.

Only people who make money out of this are bookies who take money on a horse they know wont run.

And there is a tax dodge that goes on but lets not get started on that...big brother is watching :0)
 
Fair point Tanlic. The Spoofer Slim couldn't tell one end of a bookies operational process from the other.
