Not sure if anyone saw the Bellewstown race where they went without the fav. An absolutely shocking error of judgement from a new starter. I wonder are the issues that have arisen recently due to cutbacks in staffing by HRI. It is taking longer than ever to load up the runners due to cutbacks in starting stall personnel (it was never good in the first place) and now this error. I wonder have they reduced the number of staff at the start that do the various checks like counting the number of runners etc.

Quite incredible. Did the starter say he counted the horses but then got confused? The jock was walking him down to the start and the starter missed him. When the jock arrived at the start the horses had gone. Wasn`t it Bellewstown where Barney Curley had the big touch years ago?
