Three-legged Horse

I've just been sent this story of a horse with a prosthetic limb - don't know what you think but looks kind of disturbing to me... can't imagine the rest of its joints would last very long??

From the report, it would apear she's had the prosthetic for a couple of years now - certainly looks to be OK. Big difference is that she's a pony and we all know how much tougher and more resilient they are!

Agree it does look weird but if, as the report suggests, she's doing 'good work's' inspiring disabled children, then on balance she's doing such a good job that any minor discomfort to her is pretty much outweighed.

there are quite a few horses in the US with false limbs, inc TBs. I think a few links were put up in the Barbaro thread a couple of years ago, if you can bear to go through it!
