Not a lot going on. Yes, Punchestown, but I'm no Irish form expert, by any means.

I have a couple of noted horses going today. The first of these is Beelzebub (5.20 Southwell). He was noted running on at York in May last season off 73. Generally, he's a better horse on the AW and is certainly down to winning mark in that sphere. His last run behind Charlie Mason may well have looked to have tuned him up, but it may well be that the York race will be on the agenda again. However, if he's to get in there, a frame finish here might help to raise him a couple of pounds. Now, we know that second-guessing trainers' plans is almost impossible and it may even be that the horse needs a seventh furlong. I'll venture a minuscule ew insurance bet ew just in case but only that.

My other noted horse is What's Up darling (3.05 Punchestown). This only the second handicap contested, having been brought down at Cheltenham in the Jack Richards handicap over 2m 4f. To be honest, his breeding is not shouting 2m from the top of the stands, is it? He's bred to go 2.m 4f minimum yet his trainer has referred to him as a speed merchant, which is saying something for a Shirrocco. So, again, I don't think this is ideal for the horse and only a microscopic insurance ew is the call for me.

I'll probably make this an Ew patent by adding The Goffer (3.40 Punchestown) to make up the bet. After his excellent fourth at Cheltenham over the Xcoutry course with a run that looked to be a prep, I was really surprised that they chose the Topham as the next race but he ran a nice third and, surprisingly is down in the OR to 135 here. Yes , he was beaten out of site by Vanilier over 3m on the heavy but over this 4m on G/Y going, it's a different bucket of blood, as they say.

So, a diminutive Ew patent will be the limit of my interest and we'll see how we go.

What's Up darling benefits from an 'Irish' ride: started at the back, carried on at the back, stayed at the back. Jockey's assistance virtually non-existent. Seen it a hundred times before . I fully expect there to be a deafening silence from the stewards. Ho Hum haha.
