... flops again. Still not one winner from that bumper at Leopardstown, which I would have thought was unusual for any Leopardstown bumper let alone one which was hailed by many (me included) as producing the next great white hope.
 
On the same card I was impressed with Shakervilz. Granted he had plenty in hand on the ratings but I think he could develop into a smart staying hurdler this season.
 
I thought Mr Anthony Knott was retired. How did he get the ride on Scotsirish?

Bit harsh, he is a promising jockey. In hindsight he would not have given the leader as much rope but he was a doubtful stayer in those conditions.
 
Don't think Townend did too much wrong myself. I certainly wouldn't be rushing to try Scotsirish over three miles on tacky ground again anyway.

He came there two out and, had he stayed the trip thoroughly, he would have picked the leader up easily

Townend is one of the most promising young jockeys in the country IMO.
 
Time Electric seems to be well on his way to joining the likes of Ballytrim and Martinstown BTW. Exalted company indeed.
