To Anyone Who Uses The Tube

Very good....it's cheered me up first thing at least!

I have to say I agree totally too - people seem to be going strike-crazy, at the end of last year here in Gib we had the ambulance drivers, firemen, postmen & airport baggage handlers (ok, that one was Ryanair from the UK, it affected my flights from Jerez in November & I was not happy when I was told I could travel with hand luggage only for a 2 week trip!) all go on strike one week after the next. It's all very well chucking your toys out of the pram & downing tools, but it makes life even harder for the rest of the world who actually have to try & carry o nlife as normal.

Well S/L its normaly the last resort because you have a lot of arsehole employers you know ...they are not all deemed as good! and by the same token its the employees little bit of power(last resort) by withdrawing their labour... so it should be JAW before WAR if these employers think that their employees are going to tolerate some of their actions you are surely mistaken........

I can't agree on this one I'm afraid Merlin - particularly since the firemen went on strike a few years ago people are too quick to use strike action as a form of blackmail to get pay rises out of their employers. If everyone were to take this stance the whole world would grind to a halt & it's very unfair on the rest of us who work hard to earn our money & who are ultimately the ones who it makes life hard for.

So if you're paid sh*t wages for doing your job, don't want to move job and object strongly to your employer crapping all over you, then you should just let him then? So that you don't inconvenience anyone else.

I'm not out to cause an argument, it's just my view. If you're paid bad wages or your employer is treating you badly either deal with it or get another job. We can all throw our toys out of the pram & refuse to work but we're all supposed to be adults who can deal with things rather than bail out.

I'm not out to cause an argument,
ah go on.

What about when your employer throws his toys out of the pram and sacks people. Should that be verboten also?

As I said, I'm not out to row with anyone, it's just my opinion. There are several, far better ways to go about things than to go on strike.
