Thommo came up to me asking about the difference in miles between Blackpool North and Lytham St Annes. I didn`t tell him there is no such place as Lytham St Annes but suggested a taxi would be a good option.

In other news, whilst flicking through NOW i notice that Salma Hayek and Naomi Watts are both pregnant. I found this quite upsetting.

I hope the CSA dont find me.......

Between Blackpool North and Lytham it`s four miles. There is a train to Blackpool South from Preston that stops at Lytham AND St Annes enroute but we only have one an hour of those. Trains to BPN are like every twenty minutes (but these don`t stop at Lytham.)

That answer sounds like some of the Maths questions we used to get! "So, if it takes a train from BN to Lytham 23 min 7.8 secs to travel the four miles without stopping, how long will it take the other train, stopping four times for 1 min 37secs, to make the same journey?" shrug::

I vote we expel Euro. He had Thommo, a train track, an on coming train all at the same time and yet the oily one still lives.

And as I suspect he probably smiled and said, "No problem, Mr Thompson - glad to be of help!", perhaps he should be given a good spanking first?

I'm with An. I just checked teletext and bbc website to see if any runaway trains in the Blackpool area today.

Unfortunately, I don't think the rapid approach of a train from any direction would put Tommo off his stroke... "... and here's the 12.17 from Manchester, going a really good clip, lovely-looking cab this, smart new colours, and the station informs me she goes really well over 110 mph, now that's a real fast lady, isn't it? And she's showing a really good turn of wheel now as she zips towards me, probably only half a minute late, like you ladies are, you know, probably powdering her nose - ho-ho-ho-hoooooooooooooooooohhhhhh.... "

In fairness, he came aross as a lovely fella.

I'm actually in agreement with Euro - in person, he's cheery and pleasant. And I think he's a very good race caller, too! I think he's maligned because of some of the ghastly set-ups he's given to handle - come onnnn, what self-respecting racing person wants to interview a load of over-Chardonnayed, over-dressed, over-loud wimmin on a Ladeeeze Day? You can't honestly imagine anyone else handling it with the degree of jolly, affable, mild lewdness required, can you? Oh, maybe McCririck, if he could stop handling the goods long enough! :shy:

Kri, is it in his contract that he has to do these cringe-worthy exercises?

As I have probably said before the man is prepared to say anything and do anything for MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! :angy:
