....Safari. Is it Gareth who periodically sings it's praises? I'm pretty sure it probably is as it's an Apple application.

Downloaded it yesterday and it seems quite a bit faster than Firefox, even.

.....I like!!!!

Crikey, this is the first post I've started in months, I'm sure!!

Good to hear. I haven't run it on Windows but I had heard it improved a lot on the latest version (i.e. since it came out of beta).

I have had it as part of my test-suite for a while and whilst I am grateful to be able to test without needing access to a Mac the font-rendering drives me mad.

Cheers Gareth - I am doing very little development these days but will flick that over next time I need to test.

What is everyone's personal favourite browser? I keep going back to explorer simply because I like the lay out better than the others but the performance is and can be a bit hit and miss.

Firefox 3.0. I've been running it since Beta and am happy enough with it not to have tried Chrome yet.

The difference for me between IE and Firefox is that the former is better straight out of the box, but with a few tweaks I prefer the latter.

Strata Aero theme tidies up the looks
Ad-block plus tidies up websites
British English Dictionary spell checker tidies up my posts!

Setting up the web search toolbar to directly query the Racing Post horse database is useful too.

Firefox, definitely

I have a mac and I find it more reliable and faster than Safari, though it's got slower lately - I think I maybe installed some anti-virus stuff which is slowing me down

Can anyone recommend anti-virus software on free download which is best for a mac iBook?

Right now, there's more chance of you being struck by lightning than getting a virus on your iBook.

Great, I'll clear the add ons then! I got paranoid a few months ago, can't remember why LOL
