About 4pm yesterday afternoon a storm began to brew. I live very close to the sea and from the garden i could see this storm materialising. The thunder was just a distant rumble and there were a few sightings of lightening. By seven it had gone.
Then last night at about 2am it started again. This time with passion. I have never heard thunder like it before. Every one was an overhead thunder clap, which made the bungalow shake. The lightening was everywhere, sheet lightening i think. Usually thunderstorms pass and move on, not this one. So that was 2am this morning and now as I type this at just gone 11am the storm is still going on. It hasn't stopped thundering at all, the rain comes down at intervals, a bit of lightening here and there, but it's the thunder that is weird. Groaning on and on. The other thing that is weird is the light. It's dark, but the sky has a yellow look to it, very stange. If the lightening picks up later I'll try to get a few pics.

As in, "ooh, aar, aarmageddon on thur traacter t' plaarnt the baarley"?

Sounds fabulous - without sounding too much like a whenwe, but when we were in Africa, the rainy season would start up with fantastic lightning and thunder displays like that. I do miss them.

It's all over, the last of the thunder etc has now passed by, not sure where it has gone, maybe out into the channel. The sun is out and its back to being glorious and hot again . I don't mind thunderstorms, but after a few hours it began to feel and sound like Heathrow Airport.

Blue sky's just disappeared during this topic! Now very pale, and the weather's terribly close. Perhaps we're going to get a slosh-down, too. Just as I set out for the Blood Donor visit... "how much? That's a flippin' armful!" :o

The quote I've heard from a colleague in Dagenham is "it's pissing down with rain here, thunder, lightning, wind & everything, it's like the end of the world!" Cue reply from another colleague "well, Dagenham IS the end of the f**king world!"

Oh, here today it is 32 degrees, clear blue sky.... B)

Still dark here in Glasgow. Sun up is in August.

I did have a smug grin to myself when they said on the radio this morning that all those already at Glastonbury woke up to find themselves in the middle of a mud lake - well, what do they expect? With a line-up that bloody good, there has to be some suffering involved somewhere!! Not that I'm jealous or anything...

(actually, now it's raining they're bloody welcome to it!!!)

Chucking down again in Windsor.
There are some fantastic pictures on the BBC website of lightning over Dorset in the early hours of today if anyone is as bored as I am at work. :D

Breaking fast from the stalls is the sharp filly Diminuendo, challenged upsides by that feisty old course regular Hartigan... Krizon, slowly away under top weight, makes headway with RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD, and THE RAIN IN SPAIN...

Just read about the tornado that hit Coventry today. There is a good pic of it on the BBC website. I heard it did 1 Million pounds worth of improvements.
