Today's racing.

Decent card at Clonmel.

I've had a rather speculative E/W bet on Bluesea Cracker at 12's in the Kilcash Chase. Main worry would be that the race comes too soon after her last race at Naas (conditions were awful that day). I can't have Hurricane Carter at 5/2, despite the fact he's probably improving.

On The Way Out looks a shade short at 5/4 in the novice hurdle as well.

A great victory there at Nad Al Sheba for Mick Channon and Halicarnassus, who used to be one of the Box 41 horses and now belongs to Mick. Fto since Ocotber too!

I thought David Casey rode a fairly poor race on Dooney's Gate today.

Nothing compared to Ruby Walsh's effort on Meadow's Thyne yesterday though - pathetic.

Selected three horses today:

Minted at Nad Al Sheba on his Carnival debut (ran ok for a 40/1 shot but ultimately unplaced)

Pistol Desbois (well supported in the morning but unplaced - didn't see the race)

Having A Cut (14/1 on Betfair was far too big - won).

Guess which one I didn't back? :(

Bangor and Fontwell have passed inspections; Kempton are raceable but check again at 8am. Nobody's out of bed at Wolverhampton yet.

Where did you find out about Kempton, Rory? I can't find anything. It'd better be off - as it stands I won't be able to get there nor will at least one of my colleagues.

Kempton's off. Saves a staff headache and the worry about attempting to drive on dangerous roads unfit for travel at least!

Ironically, with Bangor and Fontwell beating the weather, it seems that a huge swathe of the intended runners will be unable (or unwilling) to make the track.

This one's snowed in, shame really with Jonjo withdrawing all his with transport problems.

There are expecting a lot of snow in Lambourn so it's not just a case of can they get there - it was also a case of could they get home tonight!

If the first at Fontwell is a guide then we should certainly have some fun as the day progresses, especially the buying money merchants who will have got stung when Shoreacres fell.

Amazing to see the jockey asking for a long one with the race in the bag in that ground.

Pretty extraordinary race really. The winner could hardly raise a gallop close home, whilst the jockey on the runner-up (who I'm admittedly not familiar with) looked knackered as well!

Pretty weird afternoon and not pretty to watch, horses staggering aobut on the run-in which I hate to see
I made a decision this morning not to bet on any of the UK action and I'm glad I did LOL

Frankie just rode a blues double at Nad le Sheba, he keeps doing the same thing, coming with a late run - or even a fairly early one! - down the centre of the track, and almost every horse has been winning like that lately - you'd think the other jocks would try it more often
