Tom Queally

I think if he'd gone for the Derby, with his slightly volatile temperament (at the time...it did improve as he matured), then there was every chance that he could have boiled over as Epsom on Derby day can be challenging. Cecil did 100% the right thing.
He certainly did with the jockey he was using at the time.

Thanks for everyone’s comments. But it’s back to my original post, I suppose. How does someone so associated with a horse like Frankel, end up on the AW a few years later, struggling to get a clear run on a horse in a Class 6 handicap?

Possibly Barney's influence -maybe he has inner happiness and doesn't feel the need to be constantly driving and starving himself.

Yeah, good point. And if he’s engaged to Ms Moore, then all parties should be happy.

It is actually a bit of pocket talking - which is very unusual for me - but for obvious reasons I couldn’t take my eyes off the respective horses. I didn’t even realise who was riding the horses until later.

The greatest horses don't always get the greatest riders. I mean Pat Taaffe was hardly John Francome .
