I got a flyer from TopUp TV yesterday.

They're altering their service in a few weeks' time. I haven't been all that happy with the existing service in the 20 months or so that I've been using them and am reluctant to get involved in the new version.

If I undertand them correctly, they're looking for us to shell out £200 on a new digibox (with recording facility) and up our monthly payment from £7.99 to £9.99.

We really only use the service for TCM, UKTV Gold and, since last year, the PPV Setanta coverage of some SPL matches. TCM has been a habitual disappointment. Same films every week or two, of which the ones I like best I already have on DVD anyway. UKTV Gold has gone into overkill with OFAH, The Vicar of Dibley, My Family, etc etc.

I reckon I'll be looking elsewhere.

Is it possible to customise Sky packages? Most of the junk mail I get from them offers packages that don't appeal.

Terrestrial TV is appalling these days with far too much reality sh*te but I'm not particularly interested in watching English Premiership matches and I'm not an avid golf follower, and cricket, as you know, is strictly for boring farts, so a number of the Sky packages wouldn't offer me what I'd want.

What would I like to watch?

Anything at all, really....

As someone who professes that Steffi Graf doesn't count as a great tennis player becasue she is German, your sporting opinions mean little to nothing.

;) PDJ and his bro are like sniffer dogs, any kind of disparaging comment about rugger and/or cricket and they`re on it like shit on a stick.

DO, Sky offer "mix and match" packages starting from as little as £15 per month. Sky Sports or Sky Movies count as premium channels and are charged in addition to your chosen mix and match package.

If you are in a Telewest or NTL area you can have the brand new FREE TV service if you take a telephone line. Telephone line costs £11 per month and you get free weekend calls to any landline number. The free tv package includes everything freeview have plus Sky One, which freeview doesn't have.

Also, you can add the Sky premium channels on at any time.

The free tv offer also applies to existing customers.

Phil, it turns out I'm outwith both NTL and Telewest areas. I take it that means I'd need a satellite dish? I'm reluctant to put up a dish outside my house as I don't want to spoil its appearance (the house's, not the dish's <_< )

Do satellite dishes work inside a loft space?
