I've just heard my favourite guy on the radio, pledging to fly to Alabama tomorrow and take control, pledging money and support, and asking the nation to pray for the 20 people killed by the spate of tornados in the Southern United States.

A massive contrast to when he went on holiday, sang songs, attended John McCains birthday party, watched the 'ball game' (Condi went to watch the tennis) whilst 1,500 people were dying in New Orleans.

I seem to recall it took him about week in 2005 to realise what had happened, and that was largely because some 'staffers' had to prepare him a compendium of news footage to look at, because he was seemingly too stupid to realise what his written briefs were telling him. Even then I recall him standing in an aircraft hanger, flanked by pristinely polished helicopters and emergency vehicles (which clearly hadn't seen any action), plus a supporting cast of workers (might have been extras for I know) whose brightly coloured and spotless uniforms still had the creases in them having just been unwrapped. He told 'Browny' he was "doing well helluva job" and then saying how much he was looking forward to sitting on Trent Lott's porch, when it was re-built :brows:

I'm certainly not a Bush fan but could it not be a simple case of a lesson learned rather than an example of racism?

 This guy will be learning lessons until he dies :P ........he must be about the worst president on most things that require a bit of forethought and to listen to him speak, really makes me want to throw up!!!But Bush senior was a likeable guy but what happen here? They normally say a son his a chip of the old block, but it does not apply here................ :suspect:

Oh, I expect all the good ole boy racism's alive and well, but the lesson's been learned - sorry, larned - too!

For the studious amongst you, and those who like to build on your Dubya database this timeline (quite long) might amuse you as an object lesson in uncaring crisis management. Amuse is probably the wrong word, horrify is probably more appropriate. Even I (as a detractor) hadn't quite grasped the true level of his inactivity, but more tellingly appreciated the cynical way the White House moved to spin against the State administrators and stage manage a phony response to make him look like he was at the centre of directing the operations that the hapless locals had failed in delivering, in the subsequent weeks after
