These three went in the book today:

Ici La Reine

Ben Pauling - whoops! It was Warren Greatrex, of course - said before the race: we have taken our time with Ici La Reine and we think she could be a very nice filly. I'm looking forward to seeing how she gets on today.

Newcastle 12:13 was only a Class5 bumper, but she won it very impressively and she is one I will keep an eye on.

Poncho

Wincanton 12:55 - Poncho had travelled easily throughout the race and had just joined the leader at the second last when he lost momentum and balance with a mistake. That finished him and I think that he would likely have gone on to win otherwise.

Djelo

Sandown 3:35 - It quite escapes me how Djelo still hasn’t followed up after his impressive debut at Exeter where he won so easily on the bridle. It’s suggested that his next race came too early - maybe - and this time he would have picked up second, at least, if he hadn’t ploughed through the last.

Maybe, Steve, although he seemed to be running to be competitive this time. I just can’t get the ease of that debut run out of my mind.

I think that Iceo is the one to take out of the race.

A fine prep run here.

I wonder whether they might have their eyes on the Imperial Cup although I think he'll benefit form a step up in trip.
