The brother has been on the blower to ask what the odds are [re Auguste Rodin] for the triple crown.

I can't find any links at oddschecker.

I'd read earlier in the week it was 12/1 but I don't know how to find which bookie.

Bet365 were going 20/1 on April 4th.......only a phone call away and they will update.

8/1 to emulate Nijinsky is an insult to human intellegence.

Even if he wins the guineas and the Derby the chances of him going to Doncaster despite AOB mentioning it are about 20/1.

The race simply does not add a coin of value to a Derby winner these days compared to the Arc or the Champion Syakes

The brother doesn't bet online so he's reliant on 'the High Street'. He'd contacted me to see if I could access a price via oddschecker (he wasn't phoning from home) to save him traipsing round the shops.

When Nijinsky won it in 1970 to the racing press - back then there was both the Life and Chronicle plus decent coverage of racing in all the mainstream papers - it was a really big deal that he'd been the first since Bahram 35 years earlier in 1935 and to a-just-turning-15 me it seemed like a century. It's hard to think that it's now 53 years since he won it.

It's a wee bit of a shame that fillies who win the 1000G, the Oaks and the St Leger don't get a mention but the first two classics are easier for them to win.

Camelot obviously came close and there's still debate in our house about whether he should have been awarded the St Leger and Encke disqualified.

But they've been talking about the Triple Crown for Auguste Rodin since last summer so he's clearly something a wee bit special. Personally, I wouldn't mind at all if he proved up to the billing and I disagree about its being unlikely that he'd go to Doncaster. Coolmore have coveted the Triple Crown since long before Camelot and if they have one that's won both earlier classics and is bred to stay they'll definitely go for it.

Look like we been sold a dead fish Dessie.......I reckon Auguste will disappear into oblivian now.

As I mentioned befor despite backing him the WOW factor simply wasn't there in any of his races..........could kick my self for backing him as a saver

Speak for yersel', pal

I wasn't on AR for today or the Derby or the Triple Crown. It's the brother who's diluting his Guinness with his tears this evening
