4 timer for her today so far....what a great day for her...was at Cheltenham last week and she had a brace of 4ths...well done to her:)

Yes. I suspected she'd have a good day so these were my 'fun' bets:

EW Treb:
SAN 1.50 Grey Gold (4/1)
FFL 2.05 Alaivan (9/1 - nr)
SAN 3.35 On Trend (7/1)

EW Treb:
FFL 2.40 Emperor’s Choice (6/1)
SAN 3.00 Aachen (100/30)
FFL 3.10 Green Belt Elite (20/1)

EW 6-timer

No luck as it turned out but I fairly smashed the SPs!!

She's always been at her best jan/feb but has had a fine season anyway. In addition she really does seem to buy in these big heavy ground horses that can slog their way round

I always keep an eye on her runners but missed out today. Didn't fancy the way either of the sandown winners jumper previously.

Venetia and my sister grew up together riding pony club events in Cornwall so I'm delighted to see her doing so well as she has for many years now

Bit surprised this thread hasn't picked up more posts. She's an in form and interesting trainer. Tom segal once wrote that he couldn't "get her" but much as I think he's as spot n as anyone around most of the time, I think she's quite easy to follow

There is racing beyond hurricane fly and Cheltenham

Went to her stables two or three years ago, Thursdays were the day her horses did all their schooling and always by professional jockeys, not the lads and lasses. While schooling was taking place no one was allowed near the field where it was taking place all very secretive. Very strict disclipinarian, notices everywhere in the stables too

So do a lot of other trainers DG, but the bias towards heavy ground isn't as pronounced.

Big strong types that plough through such ground. One of the best things about going racing is paddock watching of course and hers always stand out.

Good point that the ground could a factor in her fine season.

The John Edwards connection interests me -Venetia was assistant trainer and as far as I know she took over the whole operation-is she from a wealthy background?.
