I've just heard that Warwick are making moves to scrap flat fixtures and become a jumps only racecourse. Did this make the press at home?
It can only be a financial decision, which raises a concern, but I for one would welcome more jumps meetings at Warwick. It's always been a proper test. I also hope they bring back what was there traditional end of season meeting which they switched to a flat fixture. The end of season 2 mile chase always attracted serious quality horses.
I also assume they'll be bidding from some summer jumps meetings. And as a slight aside, if I were there them I'd be doing everything I could to promote a summer jumps championship culminating in a finale at Warwick.
It's also of personal interest because I'm considering heading back home from my 5 year sabbatical and Warwick would be my local.
