The DRF is one to watch with much enjoyment I think. Strange there are not more runners taking a chance from these shores. Perhaps the post Brexit paperwork is just too much for them.

Only a couple of trackers, but I can only see danger at every turn, so wimp that I am it’s hiding behind the sofa mostly as far as betting is concerned.

Shouldn’t get involved in big Saturday handicaps but Red Rookie - 1:45 Sandown - who didn’t disgrace himself in the Arkle when falling at the last, albeit 80/1 and well behind. Worked his way into 100/30 favourite from 13/2 overnight so there’s money down.

Bear Ghylls - 1:28 Musselburgh - has (had) class and looked as though he was getting back to it on his return at Carlisle only to disappoint in his last race. Despite the Irish challenge he has the beating of these IF that last run can be forgiven.

Red Rookie ran nicely, but not nice enough and the answer to the IF for the last run of Bear Ghylls is can’t be. Looks like whatever had been keeping him off the track is having its effect. All in all I’m glad I kept most of my powder dry. Really enjoyed the DRF, though, and more to come tomorrow.

It’s a dream come true for a trainer to have two or three really top class horses, but what do you do if you’ve got a yard full of them like Willie Mullins. Must be a nightmare finding races for them without bumping into each other like they did today. Owners want winners not running respectably against his top stars.
