I am actually a fan of weather forecasts (and that has nothing to do with Carol Kirkwood, Sarah Keith-Lucas, Elizabeth Rizzini or, indeed, Kirsty McCabe) and often rely on them before venturing across the threshold of the old hacienda.
But the forecasts which I believe to be pretty accurate and reliable in general have now let me down twice in fairly quick succession.
Last Tuesday evening I got the chance to attend the Celtic home match against Aberdeen. Unsure about what to wear I consulted a couple of my usual sites, including the BBC. Clear and dry all evening, if a bit chilly, seemed to be agreed. So I ventured out appropriately layered up only to get pissed upon from a great height and with some force when I arrived at a local train station, and I couldn't blame the local pissheads for it since they were nowhere to be seen. Then again during the match. Then again on the way home.
Yesterday evening I checked the forecasts because I had to go into the Dear Green Place (Glasgow itself, not Celtic Park) today. Same: clear, dry, chilly. Parked locally to get the express bus into town and it started raining before I got to the bus stop. Rained the whole way in, while I was there and all the way home. Got home and checked the forecasts just to see if they'd changed. Nope. Still showing clear, bright, dry and chilly. Looked out of the window beside me and it was (and still is) raining.
Just wondering if others are finding the same?
It doesn't make life easier when trying to predict the going at the weekend meetings.
