Well, here we go again: up to Fakenham for the races. Hopefully they'll be no abandonment this tme. I see from the clerk of the course report that they've cut the grass more closely, they say, and moved the sites of two hurdles, as well as altering the bends a little.

So I shall be there for what I hope will be a good day out.

I'm doing my bets before I leave and they won't be much: just a little something backed in each race.

Who knows how that lot will get on but I'll enjoy myself at this friendly and intimate course.

It does look a nice course for a pleasant day out. Just shy of 3 hours for me in a fairly straight line West to East, might hack it in the camper van one day next spring and, if the stars align, we can grab a coffee.

That would be a nice one. They have a nice meeting in May that we could go to.

I'll keep my bins on them. He's a Telescope, same as my selection, Phone Home, but the race doesn't look stacked with chasing blood, does it?

Opec - 1.50 won after being shaken up.
Jubilant - 2.50 really disappointing
Sherborne - Newton Abbot 4.00 Win single Looked the winner until slow jump at the last saw him mugged at the line.
Win treble. A good jumper

Cave Article - 12.50 the daytime gamble from 14's to about 4/1 saw the usual, losing result.
Phone Home - 1.20. Nah. Went for the wrong one in the race by sire telegraph; the other one won.
Jolyjump - 3.20 Neither travelled nor asked a question.
Rockys' Glory - 3.50 NR - ugh! but backed the winner, topweight Mavis Pike, on the course at 7/2.

A free day out with my badge from the last meeting but the fields were just not really invigorating. Given that, a nice day out for the event even if the card could have been better. Not much staked, not much lost and, as usual, had some nice chats with NH enthusiasts on the day.
