Welcome More4

I haven`t got digital but if you mean excellent American drama, nude ladies and Curb Your Enthusiasm i may have to get involved.

I don't think there'll be many nude ladies but definitely Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Daily Show, The West Wing, a great load of documentaries, a re-run of The Sopranos from episode one and - as they say - lots, lots more.

Surely you have satellite or cable? That's all you need.

I posted my trials and tribulations with Sky on another thread. I have a freeview box but cannot work my video (i have a combi) when it`s in use. I may have to sort this out although i tend to buy the best series..Curb, Sopranos and Deadwood... on DVD when the boxsets come out.

Brian, are we to have any more series of The Sopranos, or was that it? I would love to have a fresh series.

More4 are showing both The Sopranos and er from the very beginning. Once they have finished showin the reruns, Jon, there will be a new series of The Sopranos.

You'll have to wait until ITV 7 is launched for that, should be here in about 6 months at the current rate!

There will be another, very sadly final, series of The Sopranos. It will comprise ten episodes instead of the usual thirteen and the first episode goes out in the USA in March next year.

We won't ave to wait until More4 has shown all the previous series as that'll take a year and a quarter at the rate of one a week!

I have information on the script for the last series if anybody would like an update.

I'll post it up later.

An update - HBO announced a while ago that in addition to next year's sixth season (now 12 episodes, not 10 - still being filmed) there with be EIGHT bonus episodes which will be screened in early 2007.

It's believed that James Gandolfini chatted David Chase into changing his mind.

I wonder, did horse's heads come into it?

The best way to watch the Sopranos if you have never seen it before is via box set.Probably the best television entertainment ever to have come out of America.

Brian,

If you're watching this stuff then you need a holiday
Latefortheraces - it's not safe to be anti-Sopranos...

Though you're probably right about the need for a holiday, I haven't had one for a fortnight

The Sopranos is a bag of shite.

I`m as cynical as the next man, but art like this is so superior to 99.999% of other tv shows that it`s like criticising Shakespeare or Michelangelo.

Box set is the way to go all right. I caught up with them about 2 years ago, and have begun to watch all five seasons again. I like the confidence that they have to run stories over more than one season (obviously allowed to do so). Everybody i know who didnt like them, once they actually watch 2-3 consecutive episodes are completely hooked. Its the only TV program that I'd make sure I was home for.

So this new character comes into the series. Many will know him from some Scorsese movies. He and Tony initially hit it off - much to the chagrin of Chris and Pauly Walnuts.
