... I wish I knew! Might one inquire discreetly of any of our current Moderators whether the lengthy discourse of several weeks past on the possible appointment of a fresh moderating team has come to absolutely nothing? We were canvassed to put forward the names of forum members (carefully checked first for their prior agreement or otherwise to assume this mantle of greatness), which a few of us did. And since then... the sound is silence. :suspect:

Dead duck? Still under consideration? No change? I think we should be told...

Well, and clearly not wishing to speak to soon, I think the moderating has improved since a possible change was discussed. If it continues like this, unless obviously any of the current moderators wish to step down, I think it works just fine... and I have to admit that I never thought I would ever say that!

I wonder how long will it be until I am forced to eat my words! :D

I don't think there was anything wrong with it anyway. People only had posts deleted that were potentially libelous or offensive. That hasn't happened in a while.

That wasn't quite the point I was raising... I have hardly sighted Brian on here in weeks, for example. He's quite likely taking an extended 54th holiday this year somewhere, or maybe he's left moderating, but as the issue was raised and considerable time and effort spent on it, it would be nice to know what was finally resolved. I've PM'd James to inquire, anyway.

After his disclosure that he spent Cheltenham advising Wills and Kate regarding life choices, I'd say there's a fair chance he's been stuck in 'The Tower'

Its up to Col but (as with most of us) he is pretty busy and has not had a chance to get around to it. I think he would probably have appreciated a PM enquirying rather than opening up a thread on it and he could simply have explained it to you then. But thats the reason anyway.

I don't see the problem with putting it up, PDJ - it was up in this section for long enough, not a private matter known only to an elite. We were all invited to participate, which some of us did. On the contrary, it would've been nice to have known if this was ongoing or firmly in the bin. I imagine the latter, James - the same way as the 'interesting' comp! :(

James, maybe you could close this? No point in further conjecture.

sorry i've just got a new pc and trying to get everything working on vista, so hardly had 2 minutes, i will get round to this though :)

Didn't you get a new pc last year, Col? Are we wearing yours out? :D Nah, don't worry about it, dearest - we are chugging along okay, but I did wonder if the subject was still breathing or had been quietly euthanised in the Moderators' Section!

Any chance of say a selective panel of E. Dead Group Hitmen in - could have a one strike and your under type policy?
The E. Dead Group's policy would more likely be along the lines of one strike and you're all under.

Pee - oh, feck me! What with crediting Gareth with something Powerscourt said, I'm running a blinder at the moment! :shy: Right, that's it. Off to Specsavers or into detention for at least a week! Sorry, Pee. (That's two sorries in two days - a personal record. I wonder who I can mix up today?)
