The analogue TV channels you receive through your TV aerial are scheduled to be phased out and replaced by digital broadcasting. The digital switchover will happen on a region by region basis between 2008 and 2012.
The timetable is as follows:
2008: Border
2009: West Country, Wales, Granada
2010: Grampian, West Scottish TV
2011: Central, Yorkshire, Anglia
2012: Meridian, London, Tyne Tees, Ulster

If you have an older TV you will need a Freeview set top box to receive the new digital broadcasts through your aerial.
Freeview is already broadcasting in many areas so you may be able to enjoy the benefits of digital terrestrial TV today.

What a wealth of information this site has....................? :)

Won't it just be great.
First of all we will lose teletext, and we will have to watch the pathetic digital version that takes 3 weeks to get to the page you want, and then when we are watching the grand national and it starts to piss down with rain outside we will lose the picture alltogether until the weather brightens ups.

I'm absolutely dreading it.

yes it certainly needs improving I have an intergrated t-v which I have had for 5 yrs now but the signal was only 5 at best at first, now its up to 10 but still there are a few glitches that really need to be ironed out in the next 2 yrs...............

We cant get freeview at home (Poole) either Simmo - its all very well tehm telling people they have to have it - but its not our fault they cant get themselves sorted!!!

300 and 301 are special BBC sport channels if it's SNOOKER, TENNIS, GOLF or any other tournaments its covered here for the duration of the matches, no interruptions........Except CRICKET.............. :teeth: :angy:
