What I like about it so much, Pee, is not just the things that haven't yet been invented or improved, but whole mindsets which are out of whack with today! I guess we're used to 'back in time' films where people want a phone, but they're back 10,000 years ago, so there isn't one. LOM's little pleasures are in realising that casually being on the take, belting suspects up a 'bit' before interview, trampling all over whole areas around a crime scene, etc., sexism, racism, and homophobia were much the norm and not considered at all unacceptable to the practitioners. And all just a generation ago.
