I've only been to Lingfield and Kempton (But Kempton was for a King George) and I have to say i was pleasantly surprised at how nice a track Lingfield is. Racing might not be great generally, or my cup of tea, but the track and facilities are excellent.

Southwell is best for betting by a long way, books make far more ricks and the speedfigures are great as the races are generally run at a decent pace it's very simplistic but punters
see it as some great mystery, have never understood iot as by far the best betting medium of any other track and even after 20 years punters won't back on it or think its some sort of lottery when it's the xomplete opposite.Wolves similarly for using times, tracks very tight so again form and times are very reliable, lingfields ok as well but can get quite a lot of falsely run races there, Kempton would have thirtd in not far behind lingfield, chelmsford will bet there but not that confident and Newcastle needs to bed in properly for serious betting.

CHELMSFORD has been granted planning permission for a new turf track on the inside of the existing all-weather course to be included in a major new development which will also include a casino.

The development will create the UK's first 'Racino', a concept that has proved crucial to the viability of many racecourses in the United States and other parts of the world, and one that will see the racecourse formerly known as Great Leighs offer leisure and banqueting facilities 365 days of the year.
It is claimed that it will also make Chelmsford the first racecourse in Europe to offer floodlit racing on turf.
Joe Scanlon, racecourse chairman said: "This is fantastic news. Over the course of the last few years the leading casinos across the world have been changing into multi-purpose complexes offering a full range of facilities to complement their gambling options.
"Here at Chelmsford we will be the first to offer a fully integrated racecourse 'resort' or leisure destination with entertainment."
Managing director Phil Siers added: "A leading development like this can only lead to bigger and better support for our racetrack. We look forward to the day we are offering a minimum prizefund of £100,000 per meeting and regular turf and all-weather racing."
Work on the grandstand and track is expected to start next year.
