Which team names should be in the Premier League of English Horse Racing?

Hello there.

I am Penny in Cambridge, England. I am working at royalenclosure.com where we have developed a Premier League style table for the top 32 horse racing teams competing in English horse racing.

The table is making it easier for the Chinese market to follow English horse racing and, after a few mistakes at the start we seem to have found a winning formula. You can see the table on http://royalenclosure.com/en/teams/

Godolphin is in the number 1 position followed by Hamdan, Qatar and Tabor. All the team names have been globalized into single names.

I am now putting together the team names for the 2016/17 league table and would love to hear your thoughts on which names should be included and those that perhaps should be excluded. I can offer you a £20 Giftcard for Royal Enclosure accessories in return for your suggestions, which I know is not much in the way of generosity, but I hope it shows I value your thoughts.

All the best.

I'm confused. What is the website selling? The Godolphin one costs £100. What do you get?

Thanks for the reply.

Essentially the website sells accessories (mostly scarves) in the names/colours of the 32 racing teams. But the most important part of the site is the collectible team card component. These team cards rise in price when the team wins the daily featured race. All of the team cards were priced at £17 in June last year.

Godolphin team card has risen to £100 because the Godolphin team has won the most races. The Royal Enclosure table is intended as a fast reference point for new people getting into racing.

So you can buy the teamcard for £17 and then sell it for £100?

£68 stg for a scarf in the colours of Lady Bamford is excellent value-I'm so glad tomorrow is payday.

£68 for racing scarf to wear to the races with strict dresscodes in 30 degrees summer weather.

Where can I invest in this venture?

No flat racing in Scotland or Wales then? Not sure what team names your talking about surely just needs to be as they are? Surely a crazy idea for that reason I'm out!

How can George Strawbridge be the owner of the eponymous Campbells Soup Brand. Either a word needs removed from the sentence or he needs to change his name.

I suspect that the website will have more success among the rich and extremely gullible in other parts of the world.

If anybody on here has the foresight to buy the attractively priced Ng wristband for £27 can they please PM me. I have a couple of potential business ventures I'd like to discuss.

Bamford scarf is very popular. Not sure if that is mainly due to the colour or the Lady Bamford name. The Queens racing colours seem to sell best in Asia.

Yes if you had purchased it in June and have found someone who wants to buy it. Although the team cards are generally used as a reference point for new people to get a quick snapshot of racing. We do not sell many cards but a lot of people in Asia now follow the table in the same way as they would follow any other league table.

Good point and an important point. We have started in England and will eventually expand the concept to other areas including Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Australia and so on. Our customers are not very familiar with racing so we just included England for now to limit the amount of details. We have found through earlier mistakes that it's easy to start with something small and then build it bigger as people become familiar with the idea. We look forward to adding Musselburgh Racecourse - which I believe is one of the most beautiful racecourses in the world.

According to my references the Strawbridge family do own the Campbell soup brand. Please feel free to correct me.

I understand that from an advertising perspective you need to exaggerate the "league's" worth but it's surely misleading to quote the competition as being

"THU 24 MAR 17:40 | SAEED X KHALID X FITRI X MAKTOUM
24MAR_Royal_enclosure_racecard
The race for the most sought after sport trophy in England today has draw 4 of the 32 #royalenclosure teams"

because last time I checked, it wasn't.

It's a good point and in some ways reminds me of the mirrors in Marks and Spencers that we know make us look much slimmer than we really are - but we seem to prefer it that way. The team try to keep the sensational wording within the boundaries of possibility although our challenge is to draw a new group of global customers to English style horse racing and we are in competition with many other sports for the attention of these customers. These other sports truly know how to turn trivia into captivating drama and we need to learn to do the same... but as you point out we have a long way to go still.

If I buy one say Qatar Racing for £46 and their value goes up to £60 will you buy it back off me for that price?

Martin

No what I mean is if you're saying that the scarf etc is worth X amount then why not buy it back off people for the amount you say it is worth?

Interesting idea, don't think it will work unless you can get traders involved who buy and sell stock based on how well they think they will do but even that will only work if selling the right stock.
