Cannot stand the likes of Celine Dion and co but for whatever reason I could always listen to Houston, think she has a fantastic voice.

So I was happy to read today she is divorcing her husband (Bobby Brown) and seems to be getting her life back in order after drug and drink problems. Also read she plans on a new album at some stage next year.

Stuck her name in Youtube and it threw out loads of performances but this one stood out.....its a vocal lesson to all on X-Factor particularly the last twenty seconds!!

I think she has an amazing voice. She is one voice I have tried to mimic singing into my hairbrush on a few occassions in my deep and distant past. I have to admit I sounded more like a tom cat going very slowly through a mangle :shy:

Heresy! Ever year I watch the Oscars secretly hoping that one of the cameramen is really a tooled-up assassin.

Really? Presumably taking the piss out of Kevin on film is what ruled her out. Bad as the film was it would have been twice as awful if she had been in it.

I used to like her quite a lot

But I fear it is too late for her to the music.

She was a very beautiful woman and a great singer, and she could be used to show people how drugs can destroy people in such a short period of time.

A powerful voice without intelligence or subtlety

Give me erika Badu, angie Stone or Mary J anytime

People mistake shouting for class.

Francis Albert and billie Holiday had limited range and power...but my god....they were truely special

Bob Harris ( I think!) played a duet of Whitney with Enrique Egllesias (sp!!) to be released soon - its quite good....

(though it was about 3am, so I could have been in the midst of a nightmare.....)
