Oct 19th, 2006 received second penalty notice.

Have taken every opportunity since to tell local Police Constabulary how wrong they have got their priorities, especially when they took 48 hrs to investigate a break-in to my house.

Must admit they do appear to have had a rethink and seem to have kept speed cameras to places where they should.

One interesting piece of news from a few years ago:

Locals were making complaints about speeding cars on a very wide road near the promenade. So, mobile cameras were set up. Unfortunately, the cars from out of the area were being 'flashed' by motorists so the only motorists pulled for speeding were the ...... local residents - they were not happy!

Goes to prove that the only motorists without speeding points are the lucky ones as told to me by a police officer, at least he was showing sympathy for public opinion.

Another little gem:

I was travelling along a motorway with pools of fog forming in the depressions and had tuned into a local radio station who were reporting a red Rover 416SLi (mine) travelling too fast. It had been rung in by a responsible motorist I had just overtaken who thought it necessary to warn listeners of worsening weather - I wonder in which hand he was hiding his mobile phone - but thats another grievence.

Safe motoring everyone.
