Up and out at 7am this morning and I have to say this was the first morning for some time that I felt the colt. Horrible wet morning, cold cutting wind and then when driving to work the heavens opened with snow. Definitely a day to stay indoors if you can. Horrible weekend forecast as well.

I have a hangover and haven't even looked outside yet. Despite my best efforts some sunlight is infiltrating my apartment.

My pilot light keeps going out during the night. My boiler is outside.
I had the devil's own job to get the fekker going again this morning.
There was the kind of driving freezing wind today which comes straight over form Siberia with nothing in the way to stop it... I think I might leave the beast going all night to make sure it doesn't conk out again this w/e

Drove from Blackpool to Fleetwood this morning along the prom and just as the radio news broadcast a report from the beached ship on Blackpool beach - there it was to my left!

There is a degree of chagrin about my work place in that it was a Fleetwood ferry beached upon Cleveleys beach, and calling it a Blackpool attraction has not gone down well.

I believe the timber from the last wreck on our shores was used in one of the 'Old Bloomfield Road' stands.

My daughter up on a yard in Middleham Nth Yorkshire said its snowing heavily and sticking...

I have a 500+ mile train journey tomorrow. Some of it is bound to be the wrong kind of snow.

Been waiting for the snow here for the last few months, been forecast but think they just cover their backs nowadays so as not to get in trouble. Been around Yorkshire & Lancs today & seen a slight cover but nothing more. TBH don't beleive a word they say nowadays & rely on the 'look'out of the window in a morning!

Try riding out two lots in it, early, then!!!!!

I've ridden out in a fair bit colder this season but that wind was biting and got more and more bitter as the day progressed.

Come this evening at Kempton I was so cold it just wasn't funny - not only had my fingers stopped working (when I needed them too!! - and the toes had given up long before that!) but I swear it started affecting my thinking too - that despite promoting the ultra fashionable Taleban look all night. That's a black bobble hat to the eyebrows and a black scarf to the bridge of the nose, for the uninitiated - last time that look was brought in (at Newbury before Christmas) I was accused of being Taleban, a suicide bomber, Al-Qaeda, you name it.....

...and to be quite honest, I don't give a shite what I look like - needs must when the devil vomits into your kettle an' all that - if it makes me feel a little less like a terminal hypothermia case I don't care!

A few people do that before coming into work for 9. I might be jealous come the summer months but right now I just think why do it to yourself!!?!?

Too much information :what: :what:

Thought you might like to know that the ferry on 'Cleveleys' beach is disgourging McVities chocolate biscuits - the beach is covered in packets of them.

The police have cordoned off a 450m stretch to stop looters, hope they've got plenty of back-up on hand for when the Hobnobs float ashore.

:D

The weather here in Ascot today has been absolutely spring like! The sun has shone all day and the birds are still singing.... wonderful.

More glorious weather this weekend. The birds and flowers all seem very confused. There was a heavy frost last night but perfect blue skies all day. Wonderful. Evidently, the weather is due to change again during the week so I am making the most of it today and tomorrow.

I suppose that really takes the biscuit!!!!! you wont need to dunk them then............. :)

Latest news is that it took me half an hour longer to drive home along Cleveleys promenade on Friday night, I gather that the queue of parked cars had arrived after the local BBC news had announced that the latest load to float ashore were rolls of insulation foam and timber.

Had to tiitter also at the 'outraged' councillor who was shocked at the morbidity of someone who had taken the lifebelt and was auctioning it on ebay.

Stanly Holloway would have han a field day...

... there were no shipwrecks, nobody drowned, in fact, nothing to laugh at at all.

Another councillor was unhappy with the negative publicity all this was giving to Cleveleys and that the perpurtrator of said crime was probably one of those people from Blackpool as he could not accept such despicable behaviour from a local resident.

Can't wait for those 'Hobnobs' - there'll be riots, I tell you not
