I followed all the steps that Windows XP told me to do when setting this up including adding a security key but now when I start the connection it tells me that it is unsecured .

How do I secure it ? Any advice gratefully received.

I wouldn't know about securing it (I'm on a wireless network so don't need to secure the network) but wireless is great. I had a few connection problems in the winter (bad weather doesn't help) but now it's going great guns. I've also realised in setting it up that Skype works almost perfectly when I'm on the balcony as the connection is so much better so I'm currently reclining in a seat on the balcony con un vaso de vino blanco and the Counting Crows playing on the hifi - sweet....B)

James, the install disk which came with the router you purchased should either show you what to do during the install procedure, or will contain a help section which will explain how to add wep security at a later date.

You will need to log into your router (typical address would be http://192.168.1.1/ unless you changed it).

Find the Wireless > Config > Encryption section.

In there you can enter a key for anyone that you want to allow to use your network, if you don't use a Key then anyone can connect and piggy back off your connection.

Then when setting up your PC to log onto the network you will need to enter the key you entered for your router.
