Being a bit of a traditionalist, I wouldn't normally approve of the growing tendency for jump courses to use portable fences & hurdles. But in the case of Worcester, I think it's been a smart move. Because of the size and width of their circuit, they've been unable to water consistently for summer jumping. Often the ground has been good to firm in the back straight but good to soft elsewhere, a situation which will inevitably lead to horses breaking down. With only one track to water for each meeting, they are now able to do so thoroughly and consistently.

So thumbs upto Worcester for finding a solution to their perennial ground problem. The next issue they need to address is their derisory prize-money!
