Do not usually watch it but in a hungover state tonight so stayed in and and did so. Near riots in the studio after Louis Walsh had the final decision on who should go or stay in the competition. Down to The Conway Sisters (crap Irish folk harmony Group) and Maria who not only can sing but lads you definately would.....chose Maria to leave basically because The Conways are Irish (as he is).

Fingers crossed the audience take their frustration (which was pretty vocal!) out on the little gimp who has brought up such talent as Girls Aloud and bloody Westlife. They would be doing us all a favour.

I don't think he made the decision based on them being Irish, but rather because they're less of a threat to either of his acts. Apparantly he's got some history with The Ugly Sisters, though, so who knows what goes on in the background. I'd say there was some damage done on Betfair!

And lets face it Maria posed a serious threat to the favourite - Shayne who is in which group? Oh yes - Louis! Don't tell me that wasn't something to do with it. With her out of the way - his only real remaining threat is Journey South who haven't made the best choices with their songs in recent weeks (and one of them is more talented than the other & may be better off as a solo artist).

Last week Maria was being hailed as being able to release her version of You're Beautiful as we speak - naturally Simon is going to vote for his group but Louis is a slimy weasel!

Agreed jinny, its a shame when were been told to take these contests seriously then this. From the view shows I have seen Maria was the strongest for me.

I don't know why I bother watching them but after a long day at the races, its something to veg out to. Anyone who votes on these shows must realise they are rigged - in every comp (be it Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity etc.), a strong fav gets booted out early to make sure the public get their backs up and vote twice as many times next week to keep the one they want in and so rack up the money from the phone lines.

While I don't like to namedrop, my sister is friendly with the youngest of the Conways and they are a sound family. Their old man is a gentleman.

Agreed they are awful, both musically and visually, in fact they make the red-headed one from Girls Aloud look attractive.

Mr.Walsh has a financial interest in them, so he's never going to kick them out.

Do you really think he cares who wins? It's all scripted to the hilt. Everythin you watch is planned to the tiniest detail. I'm convinced of that. I spoke with a chap a few montsh back who writes comedy. All sorts, radio plays, radio sitcoms, variety show stuff etc. He tells me tht nearly every program you watch has scripts written even when it seems like the participants are going off the cuff. Take 'Have I got News for you' for example. Every line is writtten beforehand but it would appear tht Merton and Hislop are ad libbing. They aren't.

I believe that Honest Tom uses a similar system for his posts on this forum. It's all written for him beforehand by the people he employs.

Someone's just been around and left a horses head impaled on one of my Yuccas.
That would just be a marker MarkEE, so the subset don't do over the wrong garden.

Maybe This Influenced Him?
Hmmm...very interesting Gal!! It was clear to a blind man that Louis was only picking the Conways as they are Irish - then again, the man has been an arsehole for the whole of the series. He has clearly been trying to "do a Simon Cowell" but failed miserably as he is not clever enough & he takes it way too far whilst picking on the wrong people (ie you don't rip apart a naïve 16 year old & reduce her to tears).

It was a shame Maria was kicked out so prematurely (especially whilst that talentless ape Chico was kept in!!) but then again, I'm sure that both Simon & Louis were stampeding to sign her straight after the show. She is a fantastic singer & has a real presence on stage.

It's never been the same since Mulder left and was replaced by the bad Terminator.

Not so. Their lines are not scripted - only the Question Master's are. They are, however, given sight of the questions prior to the show to allow them to think things up. Paul Merton's surreal ramblings are spur of the moment for sure - as anyone who ever saw him at the Comedy Store can testify.

I thought that was fairly likely.

I read in the RP on Monday that she had been backed on the morning of the show from 66-1 to go that evening into 8-1! Sounds a bit suspicious to me. I don't think they should allow betting on these reality shows as there is scope for insider abuse.

There is scope for insider abuse in most things, including Horse Racing.

I`m watching for the first time tonight to see what all the fuss is about. I`ve looked at the prices on Betfair and Journey South who are like these two ponces doing Kareoke are over 100/1 to go. WTF? This country is just a nation of imbeciles.

Hard luck Euro, they booted off the only talented/stand out one (Maria) last week. Alway good to see Louis Walsh get soaked though...

Does anyone think that Sharon Osborne has had a few too many this evening? She is definitely slurring her words.

All the performances this evening have been cr*p!
