Has anyone else seen the 2 recent adverts for the Yaris.

Both involve women taking revenge on a man for a crime against their car, the first dares to close a door with his foot and she destroys his radio controlled plane, the second man brushes some crumbs off his jeans on to the floor and she plants stolen underwear on him.

Should we really be encouraging revenge out of all proportion to the crime?

Also has anyone notices how men get a very raw deal on adverts?

My car is not a Yaris but I love it very much and any man that dares to damage it in any way will get more than a broken model aeroplane!!

Of course, the correct response is "Gosh, let me get a hygienic, anti-bacterial cloth and wipe that footprint off!" and 'Ooh, crumbs on the floor - just a minute, darling, I'll get the mini-vac and have them up in a jiffy! Then I'll make a lovely dinner and have terrific sex with you, wearing my Ann Summers 'Naughty Maid' outfit!"

Women should know their proper place in society - give them the freedom of a car, and they get way too uppity.

You're not wrong Epona - don't mind when they're hire cars (well, you pay enough for 'em to give 'em back dirty) but if anyone dares touch my new GTi I won't be happy!!

Actually the hire car I've got at the moment is superb - despite hating automatics! They ran out of manual small cars so upgraded me to an auomatic Focus Zetec with 6m on the clock - it's one of the nicest drives I've had and it actually shifts from a standstill! I'd highly recommend it.

I think the ads are funny.

I think they make women out to be nasty pieces of work, which plenty of them are.

It's merely turning the long-standing status quo on its head, surely?

There's nothing new in men being overly protective of their latest boy's toy and assuming that the little woman is incapable of using it properly.

So now you know what it feels like !
