usually a very competitive race for early 2-y-o.....but I got the impression that yesterdays was very below par, although I will keep the full result in mind for the next six weeks as it has been fruitful over the past 5 years, most of the field looked badly in need of a run apart from the first two who looked in reasonable shape ..... for the sake of it I backed General Alexander who fell out of the boxes, used up all energy trying to get to the front rank approaching the final furlong kept on at one pace
 
I like to follow the maidens at this time of year
C4 mentioned yesterday that Mark Johnstone has a lot more 2yo's this year and yesterday proved he should be worth following
As far as the Brocklesby goes Sir Dudley caught my eye.

It didn't look a vintage renewal to be fair.
